St Johns bakery are based down in Maltby st in Bermondsey. Their bread is gutsy and full of character. They use the 3 day levan process which means literally growing their sour dough. It makes their bread almost alive with a lovely sourness and with a roasted nuttiness coming from the heavy bake they give their bread. For this supper we are taking their sough dough white stick ( its not a baguette). The bread is a meal in itself but it goes really well with the Italian lardo and pancetta or simply dunk in the aioli. You choose!
